Have they confirmed the 2nd new class yet? The first one is Assassin...and the second one? Is it for sure that we will see 2 more new classes? I read it somewhere and if I understand correctly, it says Assassin is ONE of the new classes...maybe there's more than 2?

Well, if 1 thing has been told officially more than once its this:
To play chapter 2 you need to be ascended! Does this not mean you need to play chapter 1 -the regular GW- first before you can can play chapter 2? Seems to me chapter 2 is an expansion and not a stand alone game, so you need the original GW to use chapter 2...
Also discussions about the costs show that chapter 2 *must* be only an expansion... I mean: don't expect a complete 2 chapter game for like 20-30$.

So if you 'promote' a character to chapter 2, they can't go back?

If you ONLY have Chapter 1, you can access Tyria and whatever common areas they designate.

If you ONLY have Chapter 2, you can access Cantha and whatever common areas they designate.

If you have BOTH 1 and 2, you can go anywhere.

You're wrong in just about everything. They (ANet) have stated (repeatedly) that chapter 2 is is a standalone product, not an "expansion". They have also stated that the product will be priced as such (as an A List title), and that future chapters will be similarily priced.

So, expect the $50 buck area, not 20-30 dollars.

reverse compatibility style issues are my worry, i would like to know all teh above asnwers, espeically if we will be able to take our chapt1 chars into chpat 2
